The MD 2000-100 Single-screw Extruder Working Principle

   

This food-grade single-screw extruder adopts a mature physical extrusion, high-temperature curing and pressure puffing principle, which realizes starch gelatinization, protein texturization, material homogenization and instantaneous molding for food raw materials, completely conforming to the processing characteristics of grain-based food and feed materials.

Qualified powdered or granular raw materials such as rice flour, corn flour, wheat flour, compound nutritional powder and feed formula powder are quantitatively and stably fed into the extruder barrel. Driven by the continuous rotation of the precision screw, the materials are pushed forward stably and go through three core processing stages: feeding pre-mixing, shear kneading and high-pressure thermal curing.

Inside the sealed and temperature-controlled barrel cavity, materials are subjected to comprehensive effects of mechanical shear, friction kneading and accurate segmented heating. The internal temperature and pressure rise steadily, which effectively promotes full starch gelatinization, protein denaturation and uniform mixing of raw materials. This process completes food curing, mild sterilization and texture improvement, eliminating raw material peculiar smell and improving product taste and organizational structure.

After sufficient plasticization and pressurization, the homogeneous and viscous material is continuously and stably extruded through different customized dies to form strip, columnar, flaky or special-shaped semi-finished products. Relying on its highly adaptable rear-end interface, the extruder can be synchronously matched with different supporting cutting and forming equipment in real time: fixed-length cutting with flying cutters for strip snacks, rotary cutting and pelletizing for granular puffed food and feed particles, and special-shaped cutting units for customized contour products.
