Product introduction
Aquatic turtle feed production line and turtle food machine is suitable for professional breeders, small and medium-sized feed factories, and research institutions. The puffed feed pellets produced by this machine are neatly and smoothly formed, can float on the water surface for more than 12 hours without sinking, do not pollute the water source, and can sterilize to reduce fish diseases. It is applicable to various pet dogs as well as animals such as foxes and minks, and can be used in various breeding farms.
Introduction to Main Equipment

The main equipment includes raw material processing equipment, puffing equipment, drying equipment, flavoring equipment, cooling equipment, screening equipment, and packaging equipment, etc.
Mixing machine
Specifically engineered for precise ingredient blending in turtle feed production, this mixer thoroughly combines essential protein and starch sources-such as corn flour, rice flour, fish meal, and meat meal-with calcium-phosphorus additives, vitamins, and other nutrients in scientifically calibrated ratios. By incorporating optimal moisture levels during the mixing process, it ensures a homogenous blend that eliminates nutrient inconsistencies. This results in nutritionally balanced feed pellets that support healthy growth, bone development, and immune function in turtles. The uniform mixture also enhances pellet formation during extrusion, providing consistent nutrient delivery in every bite. Ideal for professional breeders aiming to optimize turtle health and reduce feed waste.
Twin-Screw Extruder
As the core equipment in soft-shelled turtle feed production, its high-temperature and high-pressure environment fully gelatinizes starches and denatures proteins in raw materials, making them much easier for soft-shelled turtles to digest and absorb-particularly beneficial for their delicate digestive systems. By replacing different molds, it can produce pellets tailored to turtles at various growth stages, such as tiny spherical pellets for juvenile turtles and cylindrical ones for adult turtles. The puffed pellets form a porous internal structure, which allows for slow nutrient release in water and reduces nutrient leaching. This not only improves feed utilization efficiency but also minimizes water pollution from residual bait, alleviating the burden of water changes for farmers. For soft-shelled turtles, the easily digestible nutrients support healthy growth, while the stable pellet structure ensures they remain intact during feeding, aligning perfectly with their feeding habits.
Multi-layer Dryer
Tailored to the moisture control needs of soft-shelled turtle feed, this dryer features precise temperature regulation (adjustable from 0-200°C) and a stainless steel double-layer mesh design, reducing feed moisture to a safe range of 10%-12%. Moderate drying not only extends the feed's shelf life-minimizing losses for farmers due to mold growth-but also enhances pellet hardness. This ensures the pellets remain intact even after soaking in water for over 12 hours, preventing softening or disintegration. For soft-shelled turtles, the dried pellets offer improved palatability, while the high-temperature baking process eliminates harmful bacteria in raw materials, lowering the risk of illness after consumption. This stability in water makes feeding more efficient for farmers, as pellets stay intact long enough for turtles to consume them fully, reducing waste and water contamination.
Flavoring Line
Comprising an oil sprayer and flavoring drum, this line enables the addition of natural attractants such as fish sauce and shrimp powder-tailored to soft-shelled turtles' feeding preferences-with uniform adhesion to the feed surface. This step significantly enhances the feed's appeal to turtles, addressing issues like refusal to eat or low feeding enthusiasm, and is particularly effective for acclimating juvenile turtles to start feeding. Additionally, oil-based additives supplement essential fatty acids for turtles, promoting their growth and development, which helps farmers improve turtle weight gain rates and survival rates.
Cooling Equipment
It rapidly cools high-temperature dried soft-shelled turtle feed to near room temperature, further enhancing pellet hardness and stability. The cooled feed resists swelling or deformation when immersed in water, maintaining a floating state for extended periods to meet turtles' needs for multiple feeding sessions. For farmers, the stable pellet form reduces feed waste, while precise control of residual moisture (10%-12%) during cooling prevents clumping or mold growth during storage, ensuring consistent feed quality.
Vibrating Screen
Designed specifically to sift out crumbs and unqualified pellets generated during soft-shelled turtle feed production, ensuring uniform size of finished pellets. A consistent particle size makes feeding easier for sea turtles-preventing young turtles from struggling with overly large particles-and reduces pollution caused by debris sinking into the water. For farmers, pure, debris-free feed helps lower ammonia nitrogen and nitrite levels in the water, minimizing the risk of diseases like skin rot or gill rot in turtles due to poor water quality, thus reducing breeding risks.
Packaging Machine
Offering both manual and automated packaging options based on farmers' needs, this machine seals and packages finished soft-shelled turtle feed according to specified sizes. Airtight packaging isolates air and moisture, extending the feed's shelf life and facilitating storage as needed-ideal for small and medium-sized farmers who require batch usage. Additionally, standardized packaging simplifies transportation and management, ensuring farmers receive fresh, undamaged feed and maintaining stable breeding results.
Machine details
The cooling equipment in the aquatic turtle feed production line and turtle food machine is one of the key devices ensuring stable feed quality. Its working principle mainly revolves around heat exchange and moisture balance. Through specific structural design and air flow control, it rapidly cools the feed pellets, which have undergone high-temperature processes such as drying and flavoring, to an appropriate temperature (usually close to room temperature) while regulating moisture content, facilitating subsequent screening, packaging, and storage.
Material Conveying and Dispersion
High-temperature feed pellets (usually at a temperature of 60-80°C or above) enter the cooling equipment (common types include cooling drums and cooling fluidized beds) through conveying devices. The interior of the equipment is designed with special conveying structures (such as lifting plates inside the drum and porous sieve plates in the fluidized bed), which can evenly disperse the feed pellets, avoid accumulation, increase the contact area between materials and cold air, and improve cooling efficiency.
Forced Ventilation and Heat Exchange
The cooling equipment is equipped with a fan, which forces cold air at ambient temperature (or pre-treated low-temperature air) to come into contact with high-temperature feed pellets in a countercurrent or cross air flow manner. At this time, the heat of the feed pellets is transferred to the cold air through convective heat transfer, causing the temperature of the pellets to drop rapidly.
For example, in a cooling drum, when the drum rotates, the lifting plates lift the materials, and cold air enters from one end of the drum, fully contacts the materials, and then is discharged from the other end, taking away the heat.
In a fluidized bed, cold air is blown in from below the sieve plate, making the feed pellets suspend in a "boiling" state, increasing the gaps between the pellets and enabling more sufficient heat exchange.
Moisture Regulation
During the cooling process of high-temperature feed pellets, the surface moisture will evaporate along with heat dissipation. By controlling the ventilation volume and cooling time, the moisture content of the feed can be stabilized within 10%-12% (a safe moisture range conducive to storage), avoiding mildew due to excessive moisture or particle fragility due to too low moisture.
Temperature Equalization and Discharging
After a period of cooling (usually set to 10-30 minutes according to the output and particle size), the temperature of the feed pellets drops to near room temperature (the temperature difference from the environment does not exceed 5°C). At this time, the hardness and stability of the pellets are improved, and they can be discharged through the discharge port at the end of the equipment, entering the screening or packaging process.
